Role of CO2 Laser on SBS between Dental Porcelain and Composite Resin Repair Process

Background. The surface modification of porcelain material can be conducted by mechanical, chemical, or laser means. This study investigated the CO2 effect on to enhance bonding with composite resin. Materials and methods. A total 33 blocks feldspathic were randomly divided into 3 groups 10. Additionally, three specimens used in scanning electronic microscopy energy-dispersive spectroscopy tests. Group I was treated 9.5% hydrofluoric acid (HF), II a 5 W laser, III followed etching HF. Then, Bisco intraoral repair kit used, application resin (Tetric N Ceram) using Teflon mold light-curing source. Shear bond strength (SBS) assessed digital universal testing machine, failure modes evaluated. Data analyzed analysis variance (ANOVA) least significant difference test. Results. high roughness SBS found amongst tested P < 0.001 . for at id="M2"> 0.05 , lowest value observed II. cohesive mode dominant Groups III, whereas adhesive Conclusion. treatment HF SBS, recommended when extra retention during indication.
